Þingvellir, our first National Park, is a special place for the nation. The first parliament in the world was established here in 930. In 1000, we decided to become a Christian nation at Þingvellir and we declared our independence from Denmark here in 1944. Geologically, Þingvellir is unique. Nowhere in the world can you see as clearly where the European and the American tectonic plates meet. A better place for celebrating the 10th anniversary of the BMW Motorcycle Club couldn’t be found!
