Indonesia was a complete surprise, maybe because I had a limited knowledge about the country. To start with, it is the fourth most populated country in the world and is densely populated. Indonesia has vast areas of wilderness and abundant natural resources, yet poverty is widespread. The traffic is slow and we were not allowed to ride our motorcycles on highways – which slowed us down considerably.

Albert, Lore and I traveled together through Indonesia (Sumatra, Java and Bali), which took us three weeks. Despite the challenges we faced, long distances, heavy traffic + sometimes rain, we really enjoyed our stay. We all agree that the Indonesian people are among the nicest people we have met.
