It was difficult for me to imagine going through Asia without stopping in Singapore and have a Singapore Sling. This legendary cocktail is originated at the charming colonial style Raffles hotel. That’s where I invited Gudbjörg Hreinsdóttir, an Icelandic woman, who hosted me during my stay in this small but special country. Her husband, Juan, could not join us because he was away on a business trip.

It was difficult to enter Singapore. Besides heavy rain, the cost of driving made it more feasible to truck the bike to Guðbjörg and Juan’s home and then back to the boarder on departure. Their home, a luxury condominium, was such a big contrast to the societies that I have been sliding through for the last four months.

The bar tender at the Long Bar, where the original Singapore Sling secret recipe is kept, allowed me to film while he was making our drinks – after he had consulted with his superior. Normally, it is strictly prohibited to film there.
