The Texas Way

When I entered Texas from Mexico, my emotions were high. A few minutes before, I had been in a military convoy through one of the most dangerous areas in Mexico. Now in Texas, I could instantly feel how relaxed people were – no fear and no threats.

Everything looked bigger in Texas; the trains, highways with 9 lanes, trucks in the thousands and cars in the millions – at least it felt like it. The steaks and the waffles reminded me that I was back in the United States and I certainly took advantage of it. At Starbucks, people enjoyed a simple moment with their coffee and even took small naps – like this solo rider has been doing so many times during his round the world trip.

It was fun and interesting to experience Texas culture. Real cowboys were everywhere and like all the other people from Texas, they are very likable guys.

The weather warnings messages that I received in my mobile phone were real. Big floods were having devastating effects in some of the places that I had been through. Luckily, I escaped it all.
