My Oman Family

While going through the customs in Bandar Abbas, Iran, I met a young man from Oman. We had both vehicles that we needed to get to the UAE, which made the paper handling much more difficult – both in Bandar Abbas and in UAE. Through this process we got acquainted. At the point of saying goodbye, this young man invited me to Oman.

Few days later,on the 25th of September 2014, I changed my original plan and went to Oman to see this newly made friend of mine, Mazin.

From the moment I met Mazin in his hometown, I felt at home. Seldom have I received as warm welcome and hospitality. He had arranged everything. His children, father and brothers came to join me for breakfast, a special camel show was put up, as well as a dinner with all participants. Even an Oman haircut and shaving was part of the experience, which I got before leaving. I stayed two nights in a special suite of his house.

It was difficult to say goodbye, especially to his lovely children. Mazin created moments and memories, that I will treasure all my life.
