The magnificence of the Andes Mountains can’t be described. It is even difficult to film it so the viewer will get some sense of the beauty – the formation, colors and  the enormous size of the place. Even the stars became part of the landscape when we camped in the middle of nowhere at 4,400 meters (2.73 miles). Clusters of stars looked like a space ship hovering over us. I’ve never seen anything like it. In one day, our vertical drop went from 4,860 meters (3 miles) to 30 meters and the temperature fell from 3 degrees Celsius (37.4 Fahrenheit) up to 36 degrees (96.8 Fahrenheit). Riding through this landscape with my son was a privilege; all the small details are engraved in my mind and something I will treasure.
