Back Home

I arrived in Iceland early in the morning on the 17th of June 2015 after 10 months and five days travelling around the world on my motorcycle. 70 friends and family members celebrated my homecoming at my house which was a perfect way of ending the most spectacular trip of my life. I can’t thank my wife enough for her support – even though she never encouraged me to go.
My father, who passed away last March, was my biggest supporter. Without his encouragement, I would have never undertaken this trip. My “inner circle” consisted of Guðmundur Ragnarsson, Guðmundur Björnsson, Örn Svavarsson, Guðlaugur Þórðarson and Jóna Fanney Friðriksdóttir. Guðmundur Ragnarsson, the coordinator of the group, was my biggest help. Without their help and support, I would never have had the opportunity to explore the world the way I did.
My son, Baldur, came to Chile and rode with me for two weeks. That was a moment of pure joy on my long journey.
