Flavor of New Orleans

If all cities in the world were like New Orleans, I think people would enjoy life a great deal more. It doesn’t matter if you are tall or short, black or white, thick or thin, straight or not straight, everyone accepts you the way you are in The Big Easy. That’s why there are no boundaries or boxes that people feel the need to fit into. People simply enjoy each other’s company. Never have I seen such a blend.

Everywhere you look, you’ll see creativity, paintings and items in art galleries. Music comes from every pub or simply from people playing in the streets, dancing or performing something. The food is excellent and different and the drinks are colorful and refreshing. There is a magic in the air.

Two musicians, Tanja and Dorise, played their violin and guitar, in front of my favorite restaurant. For nearly two hours, I sat on the pavement and listened to these world class artists perform; I was not the only one to sit and listen to them. I was deeply touched and my thoughts were with the hundreds of the amazing people that I have met on my way around the world. It was a moment of appreciation and thankfulness. New Orleans now has a totally new meaning for me.
