Kerlingafjöll and Hvítárvatn

One day, our group did a riding tour to Kerlingarfjöll, which is 1,477 m (4,845 ft) tall mountain range situated in the highlands of Iceland near the Kjölur Highland road. They are part of a large tuya volcano system of 100 km² (28 square miles).

On our way back home when the sun came out, we visited Hvítárvatn, which is the source of Hvítá, a glacial river. It is located 45 km (28 miles) northeast of Gullfoss. It runs approximately 30 km² (12 square miles) and is 84 m at its deepest point.

We rode totally 375 km (233 miles).
