In 1986, my friend Arngrimur Hermannsson asked me if I could assist him in locating some American airplanes that were on the cap of Greenland. The airplanes, which were from Second World War, were forced to land because of bad weather.
Epps flew Arngrimur and I from Kulusuk Greenland to the ice cap in a Cessna, a single engine airplane. I experienced one of the most adventure-filled days I’ve ever had and I will never forget the experience.
As I was heading back to Iceland on my Round the World Trip, I heard that Epps was celebrating the 50th anniversary of his company, Ebbs Aviation. Arngrimur and his wife, Anna, were going to the event, so I decided to show up as a surprise guest. It was a great party where hundreds of guests had a splendid time. The most spectacular airplane acrobatic show I’ve ever seen was performed during the party. Besides Ebbs and Arnrgrimur, I met two other great guys from the Greenland expedition, Taylor and Neil.
